The Croc Hunter Croaks While Snorkeling

That's right, Steve Irwin, AKA "The Croc Hunter", died monday morning while snorkeling along the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. He was in the middle of filming one of his specials, when he was struck through the heart by a stingray's tail.





It was specifically a bull ray's tail that killed Irwin. Their tails have a barb that is like a knife. The are not agressive creatures and only strike in defense when they feel threatened.

Irwin was rushed to the hospital, but pronounced dead around noon in Australia. He made the phrase, "Crikey!", famous and is exactly the expression that describes how many people took the news of his death. It is shock that his death was so freakish when so many of us expected him to get eaten.





His insane exploits will be missed.
